Little Orphan Annie, that loveable red-haired moppet, comes to life as a 14" doll based on the Bernard Lipfert sculpt "Patsy".
The original sculpt dates from 1927 and is consistent with the era in which Little Orphan Annie
grew to popularity-it's not a surprise that Annie and Patsy are perfectly suited for a partnership!
Our Annie is absolutely perfect in her basic onesie or her classic red dress-either doll is ready
to take on whatever life "dishes out,"- with a smile- and the perfect wardrobe (of course!!) of collectible outfits designed for her by Robert Tonner in limited editions of 1,000 pieces each.

Classic Storybook Collection
The Patsy collection features all 14" dolls faithful to the proportions of the
composition "originals" from the 1930's. Our "Beach-time Basic" features a swim
ensemble worn by Patsy almost 70 years ago, and is available with the molded hair
ribbon and painted auburn hair taken from "original Patsy" as well as with rooted saran hair. All of the 2004 dressed dolls are offered with rooted saran hair, some styled to replicate
Patsy's signature bob, while others reflect a whole new direction for Patsy.
All of the dressed dolls and outfits listed here have been specially designed in limited editions of 1,000 pieces.

Patsyette, Patsy's¨ 9" "little sister", was released in 1931 to an eager
audience. She was an immediate success and has been in almost continuous production for the past 60
years. The debut collection designed by Robert Tonner has been molded from a vintage doll and is available in two versions: with molded hair, painted in the traditional auburn color, or with rooted hair in blonde, brunette or red
shades. Patsyette is a 9" vinyl doll with painted face, offered with painted, molded hair or rooted hair.

18 inch Patsy Ann
Patsy Ann was sculpted by Bernard Lipfert for sale in 1929. Made from composition, she had either molded, painted hair, or her molded hair was left unpainted and was covered with an applied wig made from human hair or
mohair. Her sleep eyes were either tin or glass; brown, green and blue eyed dolls were
offered. Another early version of Patsy Ann, called the "open mouth Patsy Ann?" was made using the Luvums head with a smiling mouth featuring six upper
teeth. In the late 30's Patsy Ann, had a cloth body to hold a key-wound music box that played "happy
birthday." The fifties marked a change in doll manufacturing as composition was replaced by vinyl and hard
plastic. Patsy Ann? was re-introduced as an all vinyl doll with rooted hair in 1959, and was dressed as the official Girl Scout
Doll. Our Patsy Ann? is lovingly created from a natural matte finish vinyl. She has molded painted hair reminiscent of the 1929 composition doll, enhanced with hand painted
details. The all-new 2003 collection includes dressed dolls and outfits, all designed by Robert Tonner, and is limited to 1,000 pieces per design.

Baby Button Nose
Button Nose was first manufactured in 1938 as an 8" composition doll with side glancing painted eyes and molded hair.
A popular Effanbee doll throughout the early 40's when doll wigs were scarce, her molded hair and "impish" face bring to mind a toddler who is full of fun.
The Baby Button Noseª doll manufactured from 1968 to 1981 bore little resemblance to her early namesake. A traditional baby-doll, she often came with a wardrobe of outfits.
Our 2004 edition of Baby Button Noseª is made from a commissioned sculpt done for Effanbee by renowned doll artist Ann Timmerman.
Our baby combines the "impish" charm of the 1940's doll with the sweet sensibility of the best Effanbee babies!
